How to Make a Bed So Fast and Easy Even Kids Can Do It!

As adults, we know how to make a bed, and it’s no problem but teaching our kids to make their beds is another story. So, I’m going to teach you today how I learned to make a bed faster. This works for anyone who wants to make the bed, nothing fancy. It’s a big accomplishment to start the day with a made bed.

When I was still single, getting out of bed and making my bed was a piece of cake. I do not move around when I sleep, so I don’t mess up the covers. I would lie down, close my eyes, go to sleep, and wake up in the same position I had when I fell asleep. And then, I would take the covers off, get out of bed and tuck the covers back over. And, Voila! My bed is made. It was so easy.

Then I got married, and my husband didn’t sleep like that. When he sleeps, I don’t even know what he does. But he thrashes around and kicks the covers off. And I swear he stands up, fillets the comforter from the sheet, and turns them sideways. I think that he pulls off the pillowcases from the pillows. The bed is a MESS!

Seriously, what is the man doing at night?

And when I wake up, the bed is a disaster, and I don’t know what happened. It’s like a whirlwind had hit my bed in the middle of the night. So now, I’ve got this entire mess of a bed that I have to make every morning, and surely, I wouldn’t say I liked it. This leads me to develop a new way to make your bed in a more effortless and faster way. And I taught it to my kids, and it’s a piece of cake for them, too, so I’m going to teach that to you.

4 Easy Steps to make your bed

Traditionally, when faced with a rumpled bed, we have to take everything off, including the comforter, top sheet, and other bedding, which is an immense pain. So, I’m going to teach you how I make the bed after my husband has slept in the bed. Take note that you will do this easy technique while you’re still in your bed.

Step 1: Find the top part of your bedsheet.

Find the thin sheet and make sure that you are holding the top part of the sheet. And line it up with the top part of the comforter. Apply the lining-up process on all corners.

Step 2: Spread the bedding over your bed

Once you have the sheet and comforter together, spread them over your bed. Sometimes I flip on one side and do another on the other side to help the sheet and comforter line up together. I swear that this activity will be fun for your kids.

Step 3: Fold the top part forward.

Pull up the covers and fold the top part forward. Then you can climb down the bed.

Step 4: Finishing touches

Straighten up the top and the bottom bedding (if needed).

Then you’ll have a beautifully made bed in half the time.

This process is not about making a perfect bed or the hotel’s way of making a bed. It’s how you or your kids can get a bed made fast and an easy way to have a well-kept room.
